French is spoken by 300 Million people in the world (at least..) and is ranked the 5th within the most spoken languages. If I want to learn a new language, what could be more logical then opting for one of the top ranked languages.
First, you need to find a good reason to learn the language, something you had in mind when you started studying. Whether it be to pass an exam, to socialize with French speakers or any other purpose. That will help you to stay motivated.
Learning a language has to be a continuous process. Try to build the habit of learning regularly. The best would definitely be every day, even if it is small.
